Automotive Databases

Coverage & Content

AutomotiveCompass produces and distributes global light vehicle databases with the following coverage and content:

bullet The global database architecture for light vehicles and matching powertrains is a critical step in accurate and consistent roll-ups across the various layers – regions, OEMs, segments, platforms, programs, nameplates, nameplate-plants, engines and transmissions – to properly integrate:

– Future product programs
– Manufacturing plans and timing (SOP, EOP)
– Production volume and shares

bullet Regional coverage includes: North America, West Europe, East Europe, South America and Asia. The databases are available by region or in combination.

bullet The database is provided with flexible periodicity: monthly (calendar and financial months) and yearly (calendar and fiscal year), for history and current year plus six.

Powertrain forecasts are also updated and published monthly – with engines attached to nameplate-plants and transmissions attached to engines, allowing all of the appropriate roll-ups.  The powertrain forecasts are completely and directly connected to the light vehicle forecasts. Periodicity is the same as for light vehicles, covering history and current year plus six. The powertrain forecasts are available for North America, West Europe and East Europe.

AutomotiveCompass also produces and distributes production outlook databases for medium- and heavy-duty trucks in North America. The data is provided monthly, quarterly and yearly, for history and current year plus six.

Importantly, the updated forecast databases are released monthly for all products and all regions.

All of the AutomotiveCompass forecast databases automatically integrate with AutoCRM.

How are the AutomotiveCompass databases better?

The AutomotiveCompass databases are differentiated in the following ways:

Global integration and connectivity for better and faster results

The master global database architecture developed by AutomotiveCompass provides unmatched accuracy, consistency and integration capability. This approach to structured design also provides ease-of-use for clients. (Call for a live demo).

Advanced processes for quality, accuracy, productivity and consistency

All AutomotiveCompass forecasts use the Automotive Forecasting and Planning System (AFPS 5.0) and diagnostic tools developed by our staff of automotive, mathematics and IT subject matter experts. (Call for a live demo). AFPS is used internally and by clients.

Light vehicle – powertrain data integration for better forecasts

The integration of the light vehicle and powertrain analyses supports improved forecasting for both. For example, if an engine is late or uncompetitive, the integrated light vehicle forecast is appropriately adjusted relative to timing and volume.

Reporting and analysis tools for enhanced content and ease-of-use

The reporting and analysis environment is second to none. Within an optimized environment that incorporates advances in database architecture and a flexible reporting engine, data extraction and display tools provide a comprehensive and easy-to-use analytical environment. (Call for a live demo).

Interactive decision support and continuous tracking for deeper and quicker understanding

Support by AutomotiveCompass includes direct and quick access to the team leaders and senior analysts involved in the forecast, analysis and information technology process.

All subscriptions include weekly and monthly support updates to aid the analysis process, including:

bulletAutomotiveCompass Advisory Report (ACAR)
Produced and distributed weekly, detailing automotive product and manufacturing changes, including: product program changes by platform and program (new, add, drop, cancel, postpone), name changes (platforms, programs, nameplates), and manufacturing changes (location, product assignments, SOP/EOP timing and near-term production schedule adjustments related to overtime, plant shutdowns and labor issues).

bulletAutoCRM Release Notes
Produced and distributed monthly, detailing all light vehicle and powertrain structure changes in the month, showing previous and new data for comparison purposes. (Note: there are 25-100 light vehicle changes per month by region and over 250 changes per month for powertrains by region.)

bulletRegional Product Directories
Produced and distributed monthly, regional directories detail vehicle structure by region. Data includes VM, platform, program, nameplate, assembly plant and SOP/EOP timing.
